Prevalence and Gender Differences of Elder Abuse among Community-dwelling Older Adults in Tabriz, Iran

Objectives: Elder abuse is a phenomenon that has become more apparent with the increase in aging population, but there are insufficient evidences about prevalence of elder and gender differences this area. Therefore, study aims to investigate its among community-dwelling older adults Tabriz, Iran. Methods & Materials: In cross-sectional study, 414 aged ≥60 years were recruited from health complexes centers Iran 2018 by using random sampling method. Data collection tools demographic form Domestic Abuse Questionnaire which completed through interview. The collected data analyzed SPSS V. 22 software. Results: It was reported 52.6% had experienced family members. Emotional neglect most common type (26.6%) followed financial (17.6%). Physical least abuse. Except for abuse, women than men.
